Denmark

Denmark is involved in the non-international armed conflict against the Islamic State group by providing military support to the coalition airstrikes in Syria. Due to the lack of Syrian consent, Italy is also involved in an international armed conflict against Syria.

Denmark is currently involved in a series of armed conflicts:

  • Denmark is part to the US-led coalition, which was created in September 2014 to fight against the Islamic State. It is currently formed by 83 members, in particular the US, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Jordan, Morocco, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the UAE, and the UK.   • Due to the fact that the Syrian government has not expressed its consent to the military intervention of the coalition on its territory, the military operations triggered an international armed conflict between the states members of the coalition and Syria.
