Democratic Republic of Congo
The Democratic Republic of Congo is engaged in several non-international armed conflicts on its territory against a number of non-state armed groups, most notably the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) and Mai-Mai Yakutumba in Kivu, the Kamuina Nsapu in Kasai and the Front for Patriotic Resistance in Ituri (FRPI) in Ituri. A United Nations peacekeeping operation, the UN Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO), is supporting the Congolese armed forces (FARDC).
Several non-international armed conflicts are taking place in the Democratic Republic of the Congo involving different non-state and international actors.
- The Congolese armed forces (FARDC) are party to a number of non-international armed conflicts against, at least, the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) and Mai-Mai Yakutumba in Kivu, the Kamuina Nsapu in Kasai and the Front for Patriotic Resistance in Ituri (FRPI) in Ituri.
- The UN Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) is supporting the Congolese armed forces (FARDC) and is party to the conflicts.
